Lafayette, La. – The Leadership Institute of Acadiana is accepting applications for Leadership Lafayette Class XXXIII. Leadership Lafayette is open to all emerging and established leaders across the business, civic, and public-sectors. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on November 1, 2019.
The Leadership Institute of Acadiana selects approximately thirty individuals annually to participate in the thought-provoking, eleven-month community leadership initiative. Participants represent a wide cross-section of occupations and socio-economic sectors in Acadiana. The program consists of an opening retreat, monthly sessions, and fieldwork. The program runs from January 2020 through November 20120. Topics covered include community issues in the areas of education, healthcare, the economy, state and local government, social services, art, culture, and local history.
Leadership Lafayette counts among its 800+ graduates many local CEOs, executive directors, elected officials, political candidates, TEDx presenters, and numerous community-minded and involved citizens.
“Leadership Lafayette convenes emerging and established leaders for an intensive community leadership development program,” said Dr. Holly Howat, Leadership Lafayette program chair. “Participants delve into the issues facing our community through immersive experiences and thoughtful discussions. Our goal is to build and activate energetic and innovative leaders to approach complex issues to collaboratively improve our community.”
Leadership Lafayette is administered in partnership between the Leadership Institute of Acadiana and One Acadiana, along with Lafayette Junior Leadership, Intro Lafayette, and Acadiana OnBoard.
LIA is a non-profit dedicated to a mission of building community through leadership. Founded as an executive leadership program to provide civic and professional leaders with an in-depth view of their community, LIA is constantly evaluating new opportunities to improve the leadership capacity throughout Acadiana.
